what is a good speed internet for gaming(xbox/ps3)

i'm trying to figure out what speed is good enough for playing online. i have looked at ATT.com and they have 4 speeds:

Up to 6.0 Mbps - $35
Up to 3.0 Mbps - $30
Up to 1.5 Mbps - $25
Up to 768 Kbps - $20

now i will only be playing online using game consoles and i don't even have a home computer so i only wanna get what i need as far as the speed goes.

i hope i make sense

thanks for any help

I would w/ 1.5 minimum. My friend has it for gaming and he hasn't had any complaints on it. More the better, but I would do minimum 1.5 IMO.

I have yahoo dsl (att) and have only been kicked off once and that was one of my first times on so might not have been the service. Havent had a problem except for that.

well heres the other thing you have to look at, if your gaming online keep in mind that yours speeds/latency MAY suffer if someone is browsing the internet/downloading something.

So you want to give yourself enough bandwidth if you think someone will be browsing the web/downloading while your gaming.

food for thought

I have 1.5 and it lags sometimes for me, I'd go with the 3
