IE trouble on Vista

Bought a new laptop the other day with MS Vista. When I hit the (X) to close out an IE window it wants to restart the window and bring up my home page. I have heard that Vista does some strange things but I didn't have much of a choice if I wanted a new machine. Any ideas?

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

lol all these fools. You don't understand how the tab system works, go to the help section and read up.

Read help section and no dice. No matter how I close the last explorer window, a message pops up saying that there is trouble and restarts explorer.

All kinds of crap about it. Some people claim install FF was no different. Hell if I know.

Fixed it! Read a MS Forum where this is happening alot and sometimes it can be cleared by deleting certain IE add-ons. I just went to Advanced Settings and reset/deleted everything. From what I have read MS has not addressed the issue yet.

I like it. It runs pretty good, but I agree for the common user it is a bit of overkill, and definately requires a powerful machine. But if you are buying a new machine, they've got ya covered on that part.

vista works fine for me. it used to have some issues right when it first came out. i remember having a hard time finding drivers for some stuff when i first installed it. if you are buying an off the shelf pc with vista you won't have any problems.

i always turn off all the extra fancy UI crap and make it look like windows 2000/NT, which i did with xp also.
