internet explorer 7 hangup and system crash

I am having an issue where my PC crashes and the screen freezes. then the screen looks as if it is a vhs tape out of alignment and paused.

i ran Event Viewer and this is what i got.

Hanging application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16705, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

I am running XP pro SP3 on an athlon dual core with 2gigs ram, 256 ddr3 geforce card.

If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Like SOHC said SP3 is no good. All you can do is report to microsoft. Did you just do an update to windows? If so restore to a previous date.

I'm vastly more knowledgeable on linux than windows, but I believe you can just uninstall patches/service packs.

That's funny, I haven't had any problems w/ SP3.

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.
