Now I am getting a pop-up about every 30 minutes????? Is there a way to find out the source of these? Or is there a program that will detect the issue? I have run CCleaner along with Ad Aware SE, and nothing was found??

Okay I have ran several virus scans and cleaners. I still have the Andromeda logo that pops up on the screen as a shortcut. I have tried to "remove program" in the add/remove program of my computer. When I try that is says "in use by others cannot delete". Any other ideas???

CTRL+ALT+DEL. See if you can find a executable process (.exe) that it's running under. End that process and scroll through to see if it pops back up right away. If it doesn't, run one of your anti-spyware softwares and try to remove it while it's not "in use." www.download.com has plenty of them for free; Ad-Aware and SpyBot are 2 very popular choices. If you're unsure of what something is, surf on over to www.processlibrary.com and enter in the name (ex. iexplore.exe) and the site will tell you what the process is for, and if it's a threat to the integrity or security of your system.

If it just pops back up automatically you can restart your computer, enter into Safe Mode (only allows essential stuff to run), and run all of your anti-spyware stuff to try to get it all off.

I'm no expert by any means, but these methods worked for me, and they're harmless to try.

*whoops, forgot you said you have Ad-Aware already. You can also surf to www.Merijn.org and run some of his programs that he has made. Most of them have to been sold to large companies, but he still has a few on there. HijackThis! is a very effective tool, but you have to know exactly what each thing is before you mess with it, and requires expert "supervision." That's what I had to use when I got the blue screen of death.

Okay need some major help here.....

I ran an anti-virus last night and seemed that everything was fine afterwards. Today I come home, turn the computer on and when I click on my username, the computer will go to the screen that says "WELCOME, loading your personal setting". But will not do anything else? I did get it to log on once but I could not get the "start" button on the lower corner to load up so I could try to run another cleaner. Is there anything that I can try??????

I got the computer going in safe mode right now. I tried to delete the file named "Andromeda" in the program files. I got the screen " Cannot delete av.exe : Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use."

?????????????????????????/

I think I finally got it!! Had two programs running the Andromeda file. One was "Database" and the other was "logs". After I deleted the 2 programs I was able to delete the Andromeda file. Now the computer is working fine!!

Now I am going to search for a malwarebytes download...
