I think that I picked up a virus from MySpace...How do I get rid of it?

after looking at an old friend's page on myspace, i started getting popups constantly, so i did a scan with "spybot" and it pops up that i have "Virtumonde"...mid-way through the scan, everytime, it asks me to cancel the scan and restart. a few times i clicked "no" and let it scan, it finds several instances of "Virtumonde", i delete them, but it keeps coming back. i have AVG and it doesn't find it at all! i've tried spybot and adaware to get rid of it and AVG obviously isn't working...is there another way? i did a couple of searches and found a "manual" way to delete it via the registry, but i dont have the files that it says to delete. help!

all that i've noticed that it does is pop up advertisements constantly...i don't think that it's doing anything else, but i'm not certain.

Backup your files and rebuild. Be sure to rescan all your files after rebuilding.

I know it is a PITA but that the only way you'll ever be sure you've wiped out a virus/spyware infection.

I do most of my web browsing on a Mac, which isn't targeted very much. When I do surf on a PC, I do it on through a virtual machine (using VMware Player or Server which are both free). If the virtual machine gets a virus then I just revert to an earlier, uninfected snapshot and I'm instantly virus free...
