Been calling around and (big surprise) nobody has them in stock. Did you guys that have them just have to stake out the stores until they arrived? I'm not buying one from craigslist or ebay. I want a store with a name I can take it back to just in case.
walked into a gamestop while shopping at the local mall, was going to just get a PS2 game, thought it'd be fun just to see if they had a Wii, asked, was told "We got in 10 today, this is the last one", looked around and could tell a couple people had heard and were hoping I'd say I'll come back later or something...snatched that bitch up right then and there
In San Antonio
someone had called in and reserved the last wii, and I showed up and when I arrived the lady asked me if I was looking for the Wii. and I was like holy shit, hell yeah and she handed it to me.
so sorry if i bought the wii you called about stranger.
Co-worker of mine, his mom works at a Wal-Mart in a podunk town near Waco.. Said they had a ton, that nobody ever comes looking for (apparently the area is really economically disadvantaged) so I told him to get one for me.. 2 days later, box in hand with receipt.
Well today was my lucky day. Called a buddy that works at Best Buy and he says they're out. He calls me tonight and they got eight. There was six left when I left the store at 9, so to anyone who's looking, Best Buy in Hurst will have them in the morning.
Happen to log on to eGay to check on something I was bidding on and hit a link for Wii and the first one on the list had less than 1 minute to go and was the regular unit with everything it normally comes with PLUS an extra Hot Wheels game...with shipping it was still $35 less then retail for Wii alone at store.
