So, has anyone picked this up yet or given it a shot?
I started playing it when the demo came out and i've been hooked ever since. Pre-ordered the Gold Edition, and when i find time away from work or heading to a friends, i'm playing the hell out of this game.
Ever since Team Fortress i've loved class specific fps objective games. No exception with this one.
The maps open up to be pretty big by the time you're destroying a third or fourth base, vehicles make a world of difference, and sniping/finding snipers isn't the easiest thing in the world.
Environments are fun to destroy, or use. Blowing out walls to reveal hidden enemies, or using tree lines/fences/water to conceal your approach is great.
No replay cam like COD4, so snipers aren't revealed the second they make a kill. (which I've always though defeated the purpose of being a sniper.)
Class break down:
Assault: Your typical automatic assault rifle with grenade launcher and throwable grenades. Able to unlock a "Life-2" stim shot that restors health to %100. It has a cool down time but can be used over and over. Favorite class so far. Kill someone, reload, reheal, move on.
Demolition: Anti-vehicle kit with pump/semi/auto shotguns unlock. Kit comes with throwable grenades, and a rocket launcher. Unlockables are auto-shotgun and vehicle mines.
Recon: Sniper kit. Bolt action rifles, semi-auto rifles unlock later. Also can unlock a laser desognator to call in a missle on vehicles. Once lock is obtained, you get a top-down view of the missile and can guide it to your target if it's moved. Targets can outrun it though.
Specialist: Sneaky bastard kit. SMG's that are all silenced. has a "tagger" that you can shoot at an ememy, and they'll appear on radar until they're killed to everyone on your team. Unlockis c4/explosive charges. Good for quick kills on tanks, or destroying/guarding gold crates.
Support: LMG gun with the ability to throw down medical packs for team mates, and use an impact wrench to heal vehicles. Unlock for this kit is a laser designator to call in mortar strikes on ground spots/buildings.
Right now there is only one mode of play for online: Gold Crates.
One team defends their crates, the attacking team tries to destroy them. The maps are big, but they start out kind of COD4 sized. As you destroy a bases 2 crates, the attacking team usually takes that base as their own, and the defending team is pushed back to another location. Maps have around 4 or 5 bases to defend, so it can go on for awhile.
The defending team wins by eventually killing the attacking team enough to drain their "reinforcement bar." Once it's drained, the attackers lose, and the map is either reloaded with role reversal, or a new level is loaded.
