What program will allow me to scan a contract and edit it?

i'm told that i'll need to purchase adobe acrobat professional, but can i do it with word? i have a contract that i need to scan in, red-line some items, and add text, so i can print it out and send it back. i have to do this tomorrow, so i need to go ahead and get whatever it is that i'm going to need...

thanks,

brad

not so much...

my attorney usually looks over my contracts and makes the corrections that i mark and he marks, but i've already dealt with this customer before and i already know what changes that they'll accept and i'm ok with, so i made the changes myself. i now have to red-line the text that i don't want and put in the text that i do want, then we each have to initial it. i could probably call up my attorney and ask what he uses, but that bastard will probably send me a bill for the conversation! lol

Just scan it, open it in microsoft document imaging, and send to word. then you can edit it.

does word allow you to put a red line through text? i'm definitely going to try that route before shelling out dough on acrobat. i appreciate the info!

I have been playing around with a program at work called eCopy that lets you manipulate pdf's. You can download a free 45 day trial.

look into PDF995. It's free and there's also a PDFedit995 that might do what you're looking for.
