Question about IPHONE

I have cingular already and really only plan to use the Iphone for the ipod and making calls, not using the internet unless there is wireless. Can I use my existing plan or is there a special Iphone plan?

What about t-mobile ? If it is unlocked is it true that you can use your existing plan with the $5.99 tzones?

From what I was told, you can't use the iphone on any other network.

You can use your iphone on other networks. And i believe you can use the t-zone for internet access. I haven't read up on it as i have cingular with full data plan. Modmyifone.com is where i go for info. They have a whole section there for unlocking and using the iphone on other networks.

it wont work with verizon and sprint since they are not gsm providers.

the current model iphone you will have to jailbreak it and modify some shit then you can make it work with other gsm networks like tmobile and you can use tmobiles internet.

you wont know about the new iphone until it comes out. people are assuming it will be completely unlocked so it will work on other gsm networks. since they are under contract with at&t i bet it will be restricted but you will have to wait and see.

well I am trying to find the cheapest and easiest way to get the iphone and have internet and all but it seems that it is going to be harder than I thought. I already am on sprint and have everything ...unlimited text, net and TONS of minutes for really cheap. I really like the idea of the mp3/video and then accessing the net via wifi. Everywhere I need the internet has wifi anyways. If I get t-mobile I probably will settle for the cheapest plan with internet and unlimited text. Any of you have t-mobile and the iphone?

Why the Iphone? There are atleast 3 phones that do much more than the iphone and are cheaper.

Tilt/8925 is a prime example. GPS, MMS, 3G, WM6, Exchange, etc...

I may just go with the new instinct that comes out Friday for sprint. Not much different. I have had the sprint 6700 and 6900(touch) and like them alot it just seems they are cheaply made. I broke the 6900 about 4 times....I still have a 6900 motherboard left with clean esn if anyone is interested. Housing digitizer and lcd is all you need. All items are cheap on ebay.

Damn really? I've owne7 the 6700, 6800 and 6900 with verizon. I still use my 6700 with extended battery for about 2 years. Dropped it many times and I use it all the time for email. I actually got this phone used. The girlfriend has the 6900 and she is rough with phones but haven't seen anything yet. They finally got the the kitchen for the 6900. But I will say the 6800 felt cheap thats why I returned it.

Well if you ever brick your 6900 you know where to go for the MOBO!!

I had it with 6.1 and GPS REV-A but cleaned it out before I took it apart to use for parts.
