How can I bump up my wireless router signal?

Im planning on adding linux to my PS3 but the signal from my wireless router is too low.Iv already got one of those antennas that sits on top of the desk(small Linksys antenna).

You can take some HD Alum Foil and a piece of cardboard and make a directional antenna to "cast" the signal towards where ever it is you need better reception. The downside is it will weaken the signal every where else.

get a router you can mod. most 3rd party software will allow a signal boost.

I've got an older linksys wrt54g on my 2nd floor and have no issues connecting the wii on the floor below.

That old Linksys is a great router to mod. I put some new firmware on it and got just about 1200' of coverage out of it.
