Buying a laptop

If you were going to buy a laptop and not necessarily go crazy on getting one that's top of the line what would you go with. I've been shopping them for about the past 8 months and I'm just lost with them. I like the ones with the LED type screens over any other screen because they look much better to me. I was thinking about a Dell but i hear their customer support sucks, and I've heard some good things about the HP's but wanted more input.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Yeah I'd love to have one, we've had two of them but I think they are a little out of my price range.

Seriously might want to look into that part deeper.
Both companies have been through a lot of changes in the last fiscal year, and since then, i can't think of one "Go hp!" story i've heard, besides price-wise.

After working for dell, and having to contact HP support for my parents, i can firmly say i'd rather waste my time on a Dell call than an HP "we need to reimage for your popped off key" call. reseat a keyboard for a letter that popped off? Are you fucking kidding me?

I haven't ruled Dell out, I've heard heard from numerous people that their customer service sucks. My company dropped their contract with Dell because of their lack of customer support a couple years back.

Thats what mine did, and switched to HP.
Guess what they're doing when this contract runs out. . . going back to Dell.
The grass was not greener on the other side.
