Dell service rocks!!!

I always thought people complained about Dell's service deptartment.
Bought a refurbished laptop from them. Had a problem with it cosmedically. Tech came out twice in a week to try and fix the problem, and he couldn't. Dell is building me a new system to match what I have, and sending it out to me

Just thought I'd share my experience.

Nick

i will agree. their customer service is the shit.

but their actually workstations, desktops, laptops, etc. are the worst thing i've ever tired to use. i will never, ever, ever, ever, buy another dell product again.

Really? We are an all Dell shop, and have 3,000+ systems and have very few issues with them. Back in 2004 we had a batch of Western Digital 20GB hard drives that were bad, but they were all replaced under warranty. Other than that, most of the problems we encounter are either caused by users or non-hardware related.

I've had three dell laptops over the years and never had much of a problem with any of them. I use them everyday in the field and they work great....

maybe i just got some bad ones. but the few dells that i've had were extremely slow. (although they had 1gb ram or more)

and don't start making comments because i do know how to run a computer and what should or should not be running. oh well, i'm very happy with my toshiba laptop.

i think my dislike for dell has to do with their intergration of stupid little things into the windows programs.

Slow? Maybe the home user Dell's come preloaded with a bunch of crap software. At my job we wipe the drives and install our own load of Windows XP Pro and other apps used company wide.

I've had HORRIBLE service from Dell in the past, yet I still buy their products. I've talked to Pakastani's named "Claire", "Thomas", and "Robert", to no avail. Go figure...

You're complaining about Dell products, but you're happy with a Toshiba laptop?

Here's a question about your dell reurbished portable:
What segment was it purchased under? Consumer? Small Business? Employee Purchase program discount ( ex: You job gets discount due to buying so many dells, and they extend that discount to their employees).?
