how to clean drives

How do i remove everything from harddrive except for factory programs, back to if it was new, i was looking for programs, i find some that free space but no all of it, i dont have system recover on my pc just restore but doesnt go back far enough.

If you don't have system recover or Norton ghost, then I think you're screwed. Why don't you just wipe it and reinstall everything?

whats this norton ghost? i can get that if it works, wiping and reinstalling sounds like alot for someone who knows pretty litle about pc's lol

its simple just dont plug in another harddrive while the computer is on... hada brain fart and did that today and POOF 2 HDs are now fubard ...

if you have an XP CD you can boot the computer with that and then it will allow you to do it step by step.

If you have to ask about Ghost, then you're not going to be able to use it. It's a program that allows you to "clone" your system whenever you want. Then, let's say you install something and it crashes 2 weeks later you can go back to exactly where you were at the last point you backed it up. It only takes a few minutes to have things back like they were.
