It still only outputs in 1080i. The component cables that come with the 360, can output in 1080i. The only reason I can see doing HDMI would be to get 1080p.

Not true. You can output 1080p via component cables. It's the TV's that most of the time won't accept 1080p via component cables.

True statement. There's nothing wrong with the component cables that come with the system.

The above statement is true. But it looks like this device that takes the component in can only output 1080i. I can't find documentation on the thing, so it's really speculation at this point.
