If i download something in DivX format I just use "ConvertXtoDVD". Does the conversion and burn all in one. Haven't had any quality issues at all. I use Nero 8 Ultra for all other burning jobs. What speed is your burner? There is no way it should take that long. The first burner/software bundle I owned only took 2 hours at the most and that was wayyyy back in the day.

With me, i first shrink the dvd using dvdfab. lets say it has to do a compression down to 56% percent quality (which i only do with discs that are series, like farscape, bsg, sg1, that kind of stuff), it takes about 15 minuts to shrink the disc, then burn it. If its a movie, or something it doesn't have to shrink, it usualy takes between 10-15 mintues.

DVDFab, and ANYdvd work great for me. I've had a few discs with copyright protect that i couldn't get past, until i used ANYdvd. Worked fine.

I'd be willing to bet its an avi being converted to dvd format and then burned with an older version of nero. I remember trying that and it seemed to take forever,For stuff like that, win avi converter then burn with nero 8 or convert x to dvd also is a nice program.
