no power to USB

alright so i found nothing on the internet on this so i need some help

power went out while i was at work from all the wind and when i come home and turn my computer on, i notice the keyboard and mouse do not work (both usb)

i restart the computer in safemode and regular mode in windows and still no power to any usb. the back pannel USBs are not getting power as well as the ones built into the PC tower that are directly connected to the mobo. I checked the BIOS and USB devices and controlers are turned on...

i have noticed that they get power for about 2 seconds right before the windows loading screen comes up but then it goes away. PS2 mouse and keyboard is working, seems like just the USB...

any help would be great! thanks
shane

Maybe the onboard USB controller went tits up.

Look into getting a pci USB expansion card for a quick and dirty fix. They are around $10 bucks these days.

grrr... that crossed my mind... does that happen often? that they just randomly go out? wouldnt there be no power at all though if the controler went out?
