Clone a PC: Computer help

I need some help finding something. Here's what I want to do.

I have a desktop and a laptop. I want them both to have the same OS, programs, settings, email. Everything. I want to be able to sync them with the desktop being the primary host and the laptop being the secondary. I want it with minimal actions to perform.

Scenario: I work on 99% of my stuff on a desktop. But I have to go somewhere. I sync my desktop with my laptop so my stuff on the laptop is just as it was on the desktop. I'm gone for a week, do my emails, download stuff, edit some documents. I come home, plug the laptop into my network, press a button and everything I did while I was gone copies over to the desktop.

Where and what do I need?

I can do this myself, but this is for an older person that is not very computer savvy and I can't hald their hand every step of the way. I'll buy what I need to seeing as it won't be my money.

If you always have internet access you could use "PC anywhere" proggy

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Or logmein.com. Its free. Also you could setup a share on the desktop pc and mount the drive on his laptop and he could put files he needs of each. Log me in pro is really cool and you can drag and drop files from one window to the other. PM Me if u wanna chat about it.

mozy.com. My business clients use mozypro.com no problems so far.

I didn't even read the first post.

Go with Logmein.com Pro account. It is very nice.

I use http://www.remotelyanywhere.com/
