Itunes error help

so got my first IPOD at christmas and i have been importing music. i have about 110 songs now (holds 2000 or more) and it is giving me an error that I can't figure out- anyone have a clue? I tried googling it and didn't find much....

it says my disk is full.......i am using a secondary harddrive that Alan has that is only 25% full, so i know it is not full, i checked it. so i can't download any more music until i figure this out. do i need to empty out songs in my itunes? or what?

sorry i am an ipod dummy!

I'm not an expert, but what format are the songs in that you are trying to transfer? If you select your ipod from itunes, how full does it say your ipod is? Are you using itunes to transfer files or are you doing a drag/drop from windows file explorer?

the files are transferring through itunes- synching from there. do i need to delete them from my library after they are transferred to my ipod? i'll have to look when i get home on how full the ipod is, but i think last i checked it was like only 10% full. it's an 8gb nano, so should hold 2000 songs (i have about 110).

No, you shouldn't have to delete anything. Check and see that they are mp3 format and not wave which takes up more room. Is that the only issue? I dunno.
