Forget Guitar Hero... Guitar Wizard looks great!

Guitar Wizard is a game that is similar to Guitar Hero but uses a REAL GUITAR. Besides being a game, it teaches you how to play... It is expected to cost $150 if you supply your own guitar. For 300 it comes with a Washburn electric guitar. From what I've seen it is PC or Mac based. I hope they release it for gaming consoles as well...

thats really cool... I like that you can add new songs so you don't have to play the same old songs over and over.

I like that it actually teaches you to play the guitar! I'd prefer to play this!

Yea, I can see that. I think they want you to associate each string with a shape similar to the shapes on a PS3 controller. I only hope that there is some point where you can change over to TAB or musical notes.

However I really like the feature where you can isolate a single string or fret for game play. That makes it more guitar hero like while getting you familiar with the fretboard.

IMO they can't get this to market fast enough. Looks like it will be Mac compatible at the very least but I would like to see it made available for a console system too. I would love to rock this on my 46" LCD

It doesn't look like fun to me.
I want to play a game not a guitar.
Might as well break out sheet music if you want real playing.
