help. SATA/SCSI laptop hard drive and XP
Guys..I consider myself pretty sharp with computers but have run into a deal that I have not done before. I bought a used HP Pavilion DV5000 gaming laptop that the guy tried loading Vista onto. Once loaded onto the machine Vista crashes half way thru bootup and restarts over and over and over. The drive is a 120gb Fujitsu SATA drive. I used dWipe and zero filled the drive to wipe it clean. When I try to reinstall a fresh copy of XP pro, Windows does not recognize the drive and aborts install. I downloaded the SATA/SCSI drivers from the HP website and put them on a USB flash drive but I dont know how to make XP setup read the drivers from the USB drive..it only wants to find a floppy drive. This computer does not have a floppy drive. Any ideas?
