Wii online problem....

well I decided to try and get my Wii to go online and I am having a hell of a time getting it to connect. I have Verizon Fios with the wireless router and for some reason I can't access the router to change the settings like it wants me too. I have reset the router but still will not accept the default user name and password. Any ideas would be appreciated.

the router i have is a Actiontec MI424WR and the defaults are supposed to be admin and password.....

thanks in advance!

What is it that the wii is asking for? The ip address and subnet? There may be hope yet without messing with the router.

Unless the router has MAC filtering turned on, you shouldn't need to access it at all.

If you're in a crowded area (apartment/condo/duplex or closely built neighborhood), you might be getting wifi interference from your neighbors, and that would require changing the channel your router works on. But it should still be able to connect at the very least, even on a noisy channel (mine connected fine, but couldn't finish downloading an update, for instance. Kept timing out.)

If you really do have to get into the router, you might have to contact Verizon in order to do so.

I am having the same problem with mine, figured out the password is what ever your verizon account password is, I went onto the virizon.net account access to get there, I still can't get mine to work, it says that the router will only work with the verizon supplied cards? if you figure it out let me know
