i could of gone with the 8800gt but i wanted to give ATI a try since i've always been a fan of there video cards and i have never been disappointed. but thank you for all the compliments i wanted to try and push all the boundaries with this system and it did and i see it as a great investment for the future to come. I dont think ill upgrade for the next 6 years and the reason i poured more money into the video cards and well the hard drives are another story but i love to play video games and the way graphics and the games are going i can see more games getting more graphical in the future also so i just prepared for it. The games now like CoD4 and battlefield and oh yeah COUNTERSTRIKE 100fps!!

Nice cpu + board, but may I ask why you went Quad? Surely, one 8800 Ultra would outperform those 4 in Crossfire.

By any chance do you own Crysis? If you do, could you post some of the Benchmarks for that rig?

Not trying to hate at all, it looks like a freaking solid rig, just curious on the quad.
Also, what type of Drive is behind this?

why i went quad..good question i did some researching and i did like the way the 8800ultra buuut i wanted to see how far i can push these cards. I dont have crysis yet i will probably be getting that with CoD4 this weekend. When i get it ill run a benchmark for ya but doing the quad ending up just being a random build but an investment a bad investment i cant say?? i guess thats for anyone else's opinion. i never tried the 8800 ultra so i cant say would it be better then what im running now which i really dont think it could. It runs all my adobe programs like its nothing WoW is fun ill try to get some more graphical games though i dont have much yet i usually played cs and wow lol. but its my toy

How do the video cards scale by fps benchmarking?

Does the 4th card only add like 5% performance over 3 cards?

Just trying to find the cost/benefit breaks.

the 8800 ultra is over rated.. my friend has an identical system to me, only he has the ultra and i have an Evga 8800 gtx Super clocked (621mhz/2000) and i ate his ultra up and spat it out.

The ultra is a bad investment, I have two 8800GTX's that clock higher than both Ultra's I tested (all were EVGA with the exception of one BFG Ultra)

I wouldn't go as far as saying its over-rated, not a wise purchase considering the GTX can clock higher than Ultra's.

I would say the 8800GT is over-rated though, but they are fucking nice!
Single Slot,Low Power, beats out GTX's in """"SOME"""" tests i've seen, but not consistantly.
