computer gaming with a controller

what is it like playing a game on the PC using a controller. thinking about maybe getting one and start playing games on my PC

Only time I've used controllers is for football/hockey type games and it feels the same to me. Only difference is faster load times, better graphics and on the spot updates/downloads.

My '03 Sold.

that and a much smaller screen, unless you got dvi out to your plasma.

I bought one of these years ago to play tony hawk on my computer and it worked great. It let's you use a regular playstation 2 controller on your computer. I've used it for handful of other console oriented games on my pc but usually i stick with the good ol' keyboard and mouse.

they make a DVI > HDMI cable that you can use to hook your pc to lcd tv. this is what i use.

The only thing I hate that is a hassle is programming buttons but for games like GTA its worth it.
