Question What Are Flash Cards?!

Its on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. What are flash cards? little buttons pop down from the top of my screen at random times..it annoys me. what are they and are they needed?

'89 LX Hatchback 5.0 - 306, GT40 intake, Trickflow Fast As Cast 190cc, stock cam, 1.6 RR's, UD pullies, 3.73's, BBK shorties, Mac off-road H pipe, Flowmaster 44 series, Stage 2 clutch, Hurst shifter, k-member, control arms, coil-overs, 5-lug'd.
**14.2 @ 96 before motor build**14.3 @ 103 after motor rebuild** leaving off idle, grinding into 2nd gear, missing 3rd gear, on street tires. Need a good T5. Or a decent price on a rebuild. PM me?

?? should i just get rid of them? i dont want to delete them if i need them..

wrong forum...but

the flash cards are visual representation of what the function keys do. For instance on the laptop, FN + F5 is the command to output to a separate monitor or TV. There are 3-4 commands that FN + F5 does...so the flash cards will swap between the ones each time you hit it until choose what option you want.

You dont NEED them, you can just hit the FN + Fkey for whatever you want. Its just a substitute way to do it.

hmm..what if i really dont use shortcuts..or dont use other monitors or tvs...should i just uninstall them? i dont find any use for them..my stepdad has the same comp and hates it too lol..

you can uninstall if you want... I just disabled them under msconfig
