System Restore Questions

Due to some virus, spyware, malware, whatever. I'm considering doing a system restore on one of my computers at home to a couple of weeks ago. My questions is, what exactly do I lose? I've got a ton of music and pictures backed on to that computer (some of which I've put on there recently) and I want to know if I will lose any of it. I moved all of that stuff on to that computer a couple of months ago when decided to format my HD and reinstall the OS on my computer. Can't afford to lose that stuff as it's years of music and pictures I've been collecting hence my concern.

Jezzus I hate all this virus crap I really need to back this stuff to DVD

If you mean rolling it back to a previous date you won't loose anything.

Listen to my buddy, Jeff Bolton, from 6-9 AM Mon-Fri.

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

I wasn't sure but thanks for confirming that. It's been a while since I did a restore and I want to say I didn't lose and Favorites or emails or anything. Thanks.

Meant to post this up last night but ran out of time before I left work. Did some Googling before Tx Redneck responded and I found this Microsoft article that was helpful.

When you use System Restore, you can revert to a saved state without losing personal data including Word documents, e-mail settings and messages, and your Internet favorites list. System Restore won't lose any data you have stored in the My Documents, My Pictures, or My Music folders either.
Probably going to do the System Restore tonight and see if it gets rid of all this crap that recently got loaded onto the computer. Damn (porn) viruses/spyware/malware
