upgrading ram on a laptop

Just got a laptop with 1 gig of ram but fucking vista takes up 700mb just to run...

is it easy to upgrade on a laptop or is it just better to take it somewhere? Built many computers but never touched a laptop

There is usually a place to change some on the bottom of the laptop. That is the easiest way. I'm not sure what computer it is but on my laptop you have to remove the keyboard to replace the other stick.

yes its very easy. Although on some of the IBM's you have to take up the palm rest. Its still easy but it takes a little longer since there is a biometric sensor you have to unplug too.

woot... 2gb chip is $130 and it is OEM ram so I know it will work. Prices on shit have come WAY down. I might take out the 2 512's and get a 2gb+1gb... $180 shipped.
