Need computer help, prolly a virus

Need some advise. I think i have a virus and need to know what to do to get rid of it. What happens is as soon as i boot up to windows and get to my desk top, a box saying End program (program not responding) pops up and it will be a different program everytime in the box. As soon as that box comes up, which is usually as soon as windows is done booting, it locks the computer up and you cant do anything at all. Nothing works. I tried starting it in safe mode and it gets to the windows screen then just says windows is shutting down and turns off the computer. Anybody have any advice how to get my computer running. It locks up so fast that i cant run any virus programs or spyware programs. Is there any antivirus software that i can go buy that loads up via CD and runs before anything starts up on the computer? TIA

YOu can try to boot using hirens boot cd and running the anti virus tools off that, but your best luck is plugging your shit up in another comp and backing up and starting over.

Man, now i have no idea whats wrong with it. It started to this auto shut down thing, and everytime i turned it on it shut off by itself faster and faster. Now it wont even stay on for a few seconds. If i turn the computer on, it clicks on for about 4-5 seconds and shuts off. Does this sound like a virus or maybe something with the computers power supply going out?

When it tells you to "End Program" you need to write down the program and tell us.

Possibly a virus that violates RPC and causes the shutdown but that is by no means definite. Most viruses don't do that kind of damage these days. Most viruses are used to turn your PC into a zombie that serves the virus writers purposes (like spam or DDoS attacks)

As suggested earlier, the simplest thing to do is backup your data and rebuild from scratch. You will still need to do this even if you fix this issue so you can boot to your desktop. Once your system is corrupted, there is no way to guarantee that it will be secure ever again, unless you reinstall.
