is the 360 elite worth it?

i am thinking about upgrading to the the elite from my current 360. Is it it worth it? Is there a way to keep my saves from my games. i know my gamertag will just transfer over but i dunno about the saves.

Can you tell a difference really with the hdmi?

Yes you can.

Its like having a 5200rpm drive compared to a 10,000 rpm drive.

Yes, it is definitely worth it for the HDMI capability. As far as the extra HD space, it's probably a moot issue right now, but if you're intending on DL'ing a lot of the online movies, they'll definitely add up.

There is talk of the new units (once they lower the prices) having the premium system still with the 20GB HD but with HDMI.

This is probably true, because they are going to release a "Halo 3" edition 360, which will have a 20GB HD that includes HDMI access.

You can transfer saved data via USB - although if you've bought anything from the XBL arcade, you don't have to transfer that if you don't want to, it's tied in with your gamertag, you'll just have to re-download it.

I'd rather have both.. I'm just sayin'

But the only differences right now between an Elite and the regular:

20Gig vs 120Gig
No HDMI vs HDMI
White vs Black

That's it really. I'd wait for the redesign near the end of 4Q 07.

i'm going to hold out until the fall and hopefully they will move to the 65nm chip and solve the overheating issue. also, it is much more difficult to find an elite that can be modded.

if you ask me it sounds like you have already made up your mind and are just looking for someone to ok it for you. My opinon: Go for it if you have a 1080p TV and will be using the HDDVD player otherwise screw it

No, it doesn't. Not currently anyways. I suspect it'll be available around Oct./Nov. by my guess.

I think I read somewhere that the elite comes with a device(cable or interface of somekind) that will allow you to transfer all of your data from your 20 gig to the 120 gig...but that may also only be with the hard drive kit itself...

hell, there is a product out that will allow you to transer everything from your 360 hd to your computer, then use the same thing to put it on the 120...may be an option if the elite doesn't come with the transfer kit...

if you sell your 360 there is a new place in arlington off cooper entertaincity or some shit and they pay 300 cash for them. I switched to an elite and games I had problems with on my reg are no longer a problem
