What would be causing WMP to play my movies and videos in black and white instead of color?

Are you sure you are not watching old westerns, or Sin City or something? 
Check your advanced overlay settings in the display control panel to make sure that the saturation isn't turned all the way down.

Some are AVI, some are MPEG. I've got the latest version of media player so the codecs should be downloaded already.

OK WTF!!!! I've downloaded the DIVX player and the latest codecs... movies are still playing in black and white. WTF!!!
