I was seriously considering this but there are just a few drawbacks that turn me off.

However if you're getting one, I do want to know what you think of it. From what I've seen, the feature set of the phone itself is pretty kick arse. Also, ATT finally posted the data and voice plans for the phone and they are surprisingly reasonable. Too bad its GSM.

Well, I've seen a few reviews now and the common theme, about the keyboard, seems to be that it is a bitch for the first few days but then becomes very easy to use.

Anyways, its not worth it IMO.

Why get a completely touchscreen phone. Grease and whatnot and most people that prob going to get it are going to be punk ass teennages that don't take care of their own shit.

A friend of mine, she just got the 8525 and it is pretty amazing. I have the 6700 and its bad ass. I am going to flash hers later with a better firmware, etc..

I have one I bought ever since it came out.
I was actually thinking of just using my nextel for the radio & keeping the i930, & getting an iphone cause It looks I guess cooler... or theyve made it seem so.

My cell has internet explorer/excel/ms word/pdf viewer and other crap. I just figured the iphone would be a lot better/faster internet surfing wise than my slow crap.

Its not going to be fast and flashy as the ads show.

I wouldn't buy a first gen product like that... And I agree its too expensive and it will never run as well as it shows, its the nature of the current networks. I do think apple did some very ingenious things with the user interface, and over all operation.

Watch out for the white screen of death. I heard something funny as fuck about the iphone today, it can't send picture messages, lol, and it takes 6 steps to make a call when the phone is locked, sounds awesome. I'll be getting an 8525 soon, fuck the overpriced POS iphone.

Well, I'm a Blackberry fan but keep my mind open to new possibilities. However, I have not remotely considered the iphone.

I always buy not so new technology. The one time I did not was with the Nano and I got burnt for it. 6 months later the price dropped, capacity went up and they changed the design to make it better. With the Iphone...

1. Its design resembles the original Nano. Easily scratched and as someone else mention finger/face grease will ensure it is nasty all the time. Cleaning it will scratch it and there are probably not that many cases out there for it that are any good.

2. I like to push actual buttons. Although that big screen will make a nice flashlight in the dark.

3. Waaaaay to expensive. That price can and WILL drop.

4. Not proven technology. I'll let the other peckerheads figure out all the problems.

5. Will never wait in a line for limited quantity products.

6. Even when it is matured, cheap and easy to get I'm not sure I'd buy one. Has no appeal for what I need a phone for. I need full integration into exchange, a good phone and a good keyboard. Might get one for the wife one day.

7. No external expansion slots? WTF.

How well can you hear out of it? That is my number one complaints about phones. I can never hear out of them. In the 15+ years I've had a cell phone, I've had ONE phone I could hear of. It was a Sony Ericsson, and I lost it at my bachelor party. Cingular replaced it with some pile of shit Samsung SGH-d807. I hate this fucker, and will be blowing it the fuck up when I get a new one.

What was the model of the sony ericsson? I'm going to upgrade in about a month or two, and will have a w600i if you want it.

Hell if I know. I'll see if I can find one on Ebay or something. I remember Don telling me that I was lucky to get one, because they were backordered for so long after the first shipments to the store, that Cingular stopped carrying them.

Yeah, that's the one I have, 550/600 are the same. 550 uses slightly different software from what I can remember. Mine's all scratched up since I've had it for a year and a half, but if you want it, you can have it.

Here's a good review of the iphone too, pretty much saying it has a bunch of cool stuff, but some stuff is missing from all the other phones out now, no mms at all, etc.

I actually had the same gripe about my razor, and then Blackjack.

I can hear it very well, even driving down the highway with the a/c blowing. Funny thing is, my bluetooth is louder, too.

The pearl has done a good job of being a phone, and it receives email, takes decent pics, and the ability to change what a button does is very beneficial. I turned the push to talk button to my camera, since I dont use ptt.

The only dislike that I have had, is that the keyboard is not a full keyboard. I write email, text, etc with my phones, and getting used to the new design was interesting. It does learn what you type, and what words you use, to now I can type what I want to quickly.

I'm behind the times. I haven't even purchased an ipod. In fact, I haven't even bought an MP3 player. I was however given a SanDisk Sansa 2GB MP3 player for Christmas 2 years ago. I've used it maybe 2 times.


As far as the iPhone goes...I'd buy it if they were giving employee discounts on it (30%), but they aren't giving discounts on this phone of any % to any employee at any level (not even directors or VPs). If I got the discount, I'd probably try one out for a few days and then sell it on Ebay.

i heard that apple isnt allowing 3rd party apps for it either and thats what i love about me BB. I can find programs from opera mini to programs to customize the color of the pearl. i just dont see the iphone being very customizable.

i have been having problems with opera mini working on my pearl, wont connect cant figure it out and i have tryed everything i know. im on Pinstack.com and there is a lot of people with the same problem.

So developers can use the Ajax web Kit 2.0 to develop apps for it. Visto is supplying an Exchange app for it. Currently it can only connect to Exchange using IMAP.

Don't hate it before you try it. So far it is the best phone I have ever owned. What it does, it does EXTREMELY well.

The glass screen does not get greasy as all. There was a scratch and drop test done buy some phone review site. They used a key on the screen and it did not leave a mark.

I'm satisfied with my LG PM-225. I'm easy. As long as the thing makes, takes calls and text I'm cool. Plus work pays for it. For $500 I'd rather buy car/motorcycle parts.

It's ok, don't cry that you overpaid for a phone that can't do normal shit that phones 1/20th of it's price can do. I messed with one a few days ago, and couldnt stand it, the keyboard isn't as bad as everyone was saying, but I couldnt stand anything else about it. I messed with an 8525 too, way better phone IMO, can do tons more, and is way easier to use.
