Video Cards

Since I haven't bought one in over 6 years, what are the popular cards out on the market that you guys are using and liking? And does anyone have one of the direct-x 10 cards?

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

I justed upgraded from X1800XT (DX9) to 8800 GTS Extreme (DX10). The first question is what's your price range? Actually don't have to ask as you can see for yourself the range and suggestions:

I'd go for either X1950XT (< $200) or 8800GTS (< $300) depending on how much you want to spend.

If it has been 6 years are you upgrading an existing PC? Is it AGP only? That'll really limit you.

If you're making a new PC...go to town.

Well the current card I have is the GeForce4 4600TI, I think it's just a 128mb card. I don't mind spending $300 ona video card as long as it's not going to be outdated in a couple years. I was told the main thing to wait for is the DX10 cards... i dunno if those are out yet.

Yeah I'm planning on building one.
