video cards......again

i am thinking about getting this card. what do you guys think about it. i know there more computer savy people on here them i am

just kidding:0 i would go for a lower end Nvidia card.. IMO Nvidia > ATI

i am wanting to use my HD as a DVR, and i want to be able to stream movies to my t.v. plus, i have heard good things about ATI

ATI has definitely come around. NVIDIA is still my preference, but if the ATI has the abilities you want, then get it.

well from the reviews ive read alot of them recommend ati for the lower end areas, since they dont have anything as good as the 8800 series. But id have to dig up the magazines ive read that in and i dont feel like it.

i have a 1ghz processor, 384mb ram, 250gb HD. just so you guys know what i am running. i really need to up grade to 512mb PC133 ram too, i have a stick of 256 and stick of 128 in it right now

it only has 2 slots. i did some checking around and it will max out at 512

ill sale u my 9600xt for 60bucks. its just sitting in the box i won it at a lan tournament. Its been used but basically brand new i used for about 3 months and upgraded its just been sitting there.

keep an eye out for used stuff. I sold my evga 6600GT for $50 a few months ago.

I'd also suggest looking at a faster cpu.

DDR ram is starting to pricey and DDR2 is cheap now. 45ish for 1gb.

I think I may also have some 256mb pc 100/133 stuff lying around.

I have a 1.2 AMD T-Bird and mobo that is capable of 2gigs of ram if you want it.

My dad has a 5900non ultra that can be flashed to an ultra, just haven't had time to mess with myself. Its for sale if anyone's interested.
