What might cause this?

My mom called me and said her computer is starting to just randomly shut down after being on for 15 min. She said in the morning when she first turns it on it stays up for about 30 min, but after that it stays on for only 15 min or so. Sounds to me like its over heating or something. What might be the cause, Im going to try and fix it this weekend, so any Ideas on what to check would be great. Oh and the fan is turning on.

Thanks

I would bet it is a bad power supply; that is how they act when they go bad. Easy to replace and not too expensive.
