Adobe Acrobat-- convert PDF back into a word doc?

anyone know if there is a way or how to convert a PDF document back into a word document? other than copying and pasting? I assume there is a way in acrobat, but i am not familiar enough with it to know. i know it is going backwards, but i assume there has got to be some way to do it that isn't tedious. our whole nightvision product catalog is in PDF format, but due to a coworker losing his harddrive with no recent backup, we don't have the originals in word format as one document and need it. is there an easy way to do this?

I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse.

I don't believe there is. I ran in to a similar situation not long ago, and was unable to do anything. I got stuck with copy/pasting. There may be a way to do it with the full blown version, but I'm not sure.

I've got a program to do it, but sadly, it's no longer installed and the install disc is about 50 miles from me.

I am using Acrobat 7, and I can do File, Save As, Microsoft Word (.doc). I tried it and it works, but there are occasional formatting/alignment issues that have to be fixed.

Why do they call it "Common Sense" when it is so rare?
