Transfering from camcorder to computer...help!

Video taped my sister's wedding with her camcorder (Sony, Hi8) and I would like to transfer it to my computer so I can edit some of it. Her camera only has A/V out, and S-video out, and my computer's A/V inputs are a joke. So, can I take the tape somewhere and have it put on a disc? What are my options here, because I would really like to get it and edit it. Thanks!

You sure it does not have a small firewire port? Is it a digital camcorder?

Ive used CarolinaTransfer.com before. They did a frame by frame method and it turned out good. It isnt real cheap but not too bad either. Definately time to get a digital camcorder though.

If it's an old-school Hi8, it probably doesn't have a firewire port.
Depending on where you live, I might be willing to transfer it for you if you bring it to me. I have a digital8 camcorder that I transfer to my PC via FireWire. Let me know.
