Where/How to submit a trouble ticket w/ Microsuck.

I am having an issue and there aren't any related listings in the K.B. and need to submit a ticket. I CAN NOT find where to do this on MICROSOFT.COM.

Can some one please provide me a link if possible?
TIA,
Bryan

I think I found it but it wasn't on the support page. I went to the contact us link at the bottom. I hope that works.

micro$oft support link

Just choose your product and then it will give you email/phone support options. It may cost you.

I suggested last time to perform a re-format. That should work.

I don't have enough disc or media to backup everything I have on this computer to make that a feasible solution.

do you see any media player updates listed in add/remove programs? if so, uninstall them. also, you have a ton of crap running. you might try cleaning up your startup programs down the the bare minimum (ie anti-virus). the more crap is running, the more likely you will have conflicts and issues like this.

find it amusing how many resources are needed to do simple file management, viewing pictures, searching the internet, etc.

Granted some processing intensive applications justify the power, but I remember being able to run an o/s 10 years ago and it not 'need' at least 1G of ram (for example).

Vista? Holy shit. Hoping all that high power hardware comes down in price to run it. Not seeing any windows o/s upgrade in my near future

I think I mistook your media player as one of the new fancy vista window themes.

It wouldn't hurt to run hijackthis and paste the output here. That along w/ checking exactly what your box is running @ idle, perhaps thinning that out a bit.

Hell media player itself may be to blame, could test by downgradeing (if that even will work w/ your current version).

Does your utilization go through the roof when using Media Player?

At a glance, looks like a typical pc. I didn't find anything alarming
based on services/apps running.

Yes. It(the pc) came w/ WMP10 the updated as Micro suck saw fit to WMP11. Worked fine for a while, the I was watchimg the 300 off the Hard Drive and it started lagging, tried watching it from the cd and it did it also. If I use Real Player it doesn't but I don't like Real.

Now all I have to do is open WMP and it hammers my pc and it ain't to shabby.

Now all I have to do is open WMP and it hammers my pc and it ain't to shabby.

I see

I use WMP 9, and have intenionally not upgraded it because 1) i have no reason to and 2) your not the 1st person i've heard having trouble w/ newer versions.

Just for troubleshooting sake, see if youcan downgrade and test out your movies and such on v9

My PC, my laptop, and my work PC all have issues playing .wmv files, both saved and local, thanks to the updates. I thought the problem was initially with some of the streams, until I ran into it with saved files which had worked fine before. Nice to know there are only 4 other people out there experiencing this. Thank God I only use WMP for playing .wmv in Windows...

BTW, the work-around has been to completely uninstall WMP 10, and install WMP 9 in its place.
