Cool New Machine

OK, I just got my stuff all together, Hunt4m3x is going to help me put it all together tonight.

MSI P965 Neo MOBO
Intel Core2Duo E6600
BFG GF8800GTS 640MB (!!)
2GB OCZ DDR2 PC6400
Raptor 74GB HD
500 GB Seagate SATA HD
250 GB Maxtor HD
And a fancy Thermaltake PS.

How does that sound?

I think you did the smart thing and concentrated on the important components. IMHO, when gaming a good HDD is important but you don't need 500Gb at a higher price. That's what external storage is for....what kind of case you putting all of this in?

Post some pics of that bad boy when you get a chance. What did the video card run you? You installing WinXP or going with Vista on the new machine?

Well, I was having issues, so I grabbed the 500GB SATA HD that Fry's had on sale.

I pulled both the 250gb HD and the 200gb HD. This machine scored 25,9xx on 3Dmark 03 and 14,014 on 3dmark 05.

I'b about to run 3dMark06.

No, the raptor is the 74gb HD. It works fawlessley. My MOBO has a restriction, so I had to choose to use either 2 hard drives, or one HD with one optical drive. Hunt4m3x can explain the details.

The mobo has only one IDE and he wanted to use one as boot(200gig and 250gig). I told him to get a raptor, and then after looking, Frys had a 500 gig SATAII with 5 yr warty for 120, to buy that and get rid of the other two ide drives.

then he decided to fuck with shit, and fucked it up, and it wouldn't boot to cd till he brought it over to my house and i fixed it.

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Good call on the case. I just took mine outside to dust it out yesterday (haven't for about 5 months, and it sits less than 2" from the carpet) and barely anything came out. Let me know if you need to see pics of cable routing, the P180 can be a bitch for cable managment.

No, we took a small piece out of the trap door that leads to the hard drive space from the main space so we could run one of the extra cables that came with the PS. You can't even tell it was cut. The piece was about 1/4'' by 2'' - tiny.

Not really, they fired that chanel girl like the following week. Cept for Reed, he said you like to "brag" too much and never showed up with shit.
Meh, I still try to hide out from drew and go to D6 when I can since d2 is not my favorite place to be.

Are each of those individual HD's, or just one?

I'm still waiting on that wallpaper.
