dvd recorder question

i recorded something on a dvd+rw disc with a dvd+rw recorder....question is how do i get it onto a dvd-r disc? i have tried hooking my other dvd recorder to it and it says cannot copy because it is copywrited image......but what i am trying to record is my friends family reunion......HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Copy the file off of the disc, onto the computer, and then onto the new disc.

well i tried that and when i copied it to a dvd-r disc and then tried to play it in the dvd-r player it would not play it....the dvd recorder is a dvd+rw recorder and uses that format only.....any other suggestions?

just make sure its recorded in ntsc format and you will prolly have to do this on a pc , and why in the heck wont his dvd player play a dvd+r disc?

I bleieve the recorders are DVD+R, DVD-R. and DVD +-R specific

if you copy the files onto a computer and then convert them with convert x to dvd it will play in almost anything it just takes a few hours to do ...

might be easier to just go out and buy a spindle of dvd+r discs.

I once recorded my movies on dvd -r disc and when I would take them to a friends house they would not play on anything like ps2 or x box , so I had to bring my dvd player just to watch the movies , then I learned to burn them on dvd+r disc only problem my movie files were burned as disc type dvd -r and saved on the harddrive as .nrg files so I had to download ultra Iso to extract the video.ts folder out of the image to convert them or burn them as dvd+r media nero would say crap like error: media does not match file output and may cause a burn error which it did... glad I finally know how to burn and save them now...
