Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining one bit, I just didn't realize how badly they used it.

You should try using Vonage with torrents.

The faster you transfer data, the more bandwidth it is gonna use. Torrents are no exception.

I'm going to design a network that runs faster when you transfer more data.

They dont hammer your bandwith

Most cable companies "throttle" torrent traffic. They have traffic shapers which will watch .torrent and P2P traffice ports and such and it automatically "throttles" your speed to whatever they have pre-defined. Suddenlink does it, Cox/TW does it, Comcast does it, most all major providers do it.

uTorrent uses uncommon ports for traffic. And for the Tw/Comcrap comment, I had it and it SUCKS! Fios! FTW!!!! This is their slowest package, 5 down and 2 up.

I've never ever seen this happen on my connection.. maybe the higher dollar connection is immune.

If you look at the results at the bottom of the picture, they are w/ torrents running.

I know suddenlink does it first hand

My internet connection just quit working the other night, figured it was out for one reason or another. I called next day and I got transfered to another department. I get that guy on the line and I ask what is going on, and he says I was turned off for COPYRIGHT infringement! I said WHAT? and he says, "you were flagged for sharing Children of Men (the movie) on the eDonkey network, which is a copyright infringement" I nearly freaked on the guy and asked what they hell are they doing monitoring my activities and such. He said they have equiptment in place which watches your uploads for .torrent and P2P traffic and such and that they would not turn my connection back on till I deleted the file. I told the guy, ok, just a sec. ok I deleted it and he turned it back on. LOL. So now I use uTorrent because it encrypts your upload connection so they cant read it anymore.
