How was it a hassle with the company card??

I do the same thing but use my cell phone as a Bluetooth Cellular Modem and it works out pretty good. Looking to get a 3G phone next for the higher speed connection.

When will Dallas come out with a city wide Wi-Fi

I use my cell phone as a modem to my laptop. Both my laptop and phone have Bluetooth (which is mainly used as a replacement for cables and is wireless) and I connect them together. Much like a dial up modem I connect my laptop to the phone and get my internet connection that way. So I can surf pretty much anywhere I have a cell connection.

Downside is you need to have some kind of data plan (unlimited data helps) and a high speed phone such as one that has EDGE or 3G. My EDGE equipped phone is much like a fast dial up connection. 3G is supposed to be a lot faster. Speed can vary with reception and neither of them can compare to a Wi-Fi connection but you can't be totally portable this way

Hope that makes sense. I'm doing pretty much with franks is doing with that card but I use my cell phone.

Don't know if it's faster or not but it will be more expensive as you can't use your SIM card with it. You would have to get a separate account from what I understand.

Run a speed test here and copy the results and paste them in a reply. I would be curious to see what you are getting.

Frankly the EDGE connection did not look BAD at all. Then the damned 3g is pretty darn quick in comparison. I tell ya, the EDGE test is probably 5x faster then the T-mobile wireless thing I have.

Just glad I only use that card for testing and work pays for it. hehe

I just did it for fun..

That's my SBC DSL..

I just switched from Time Warner which was running over 4 but it was like $45 a month. I don't need it that fast.

The weird thing is that this DSL downloads from iTunes much faster than the cable did. Even though the cable tested at 4 on iTunes it only ran at about 350k.. This runs over 1m on it.
