Anyone here using Linux on the home PCs??

Just curious how many other DFWStangs member are using Linux as their sole OS for their home PC.

I used to have 2 PC's and a switch box, one Windows and one Linux. When we re-did the living room I got rid of the Linux system to clean up the area, 1 PC looks neater.

They've done studies you know.... 60% of the time, it works every time

I completely quit using any Microsoft products (with the exception of IES4Linux) due to the fact I was tired of cracking software that I don't want to pay for. I've been completely Windows free for almost 6 months now. I've been playing with Linux for quite a few years and always liked the idea of open source. I was just curious if anyone else here has given the big FU to Bill.

Once I get my iMac (hopefully in a few months, once I find out when Leopard will be out), I'll be putting Linux on my laptop. Probably Ubuntu, though I've been looking more into Sabayon Linux, a distro based on Gentoo.

No more Windows for me

I think there is a place for all OSes in any environment. I have 3 Linux machines and 4 windows machines at home. I don't do much publishing but if I did and wanted to be serious about it I would buy a mac. All of them have their strengths and weaknesses. No matter what you use if you don't update it your asking for problems, once a patch has been released thats not a failure of the OS developer its a failure of the end user to properly maintain their system.
