Network with Comcast DVR box

Is there a way to actually network to the Comcast Motorola DVR boxes or do you have to caputure the feed between the box and the tv?

Does it have an ethernet or USB port on it? If not you could in theory capture the signal with a splitter or something of that nature on the output cable, BUT most of the newer devices have piracy protection in place that will make that rather difficult. It tests for changes in Signal Attenuation and Noise Margin, caused by another other than a single cable, and if they get out of spec it will cut the feed. Sometimes extending the cable can even do it. I'd suggest tapping the signal from as close to the box as possible, helps avoid signal loss. My PVR has a USB port and I can plug it into my computer and download the recorded video in MPEG-4 format.
