LCD monitors

Alright i have a question i really need to upgrade my monitor. I was looking at Dell 20" LCD and i really like it and with that coupon that beavis was talking about in the other thread i would probably buy it anyways..

My question on LCD's this ms thing what is it exactly i have an idea which is like leaving trails when you move around in a video game?? I want to have a monitor thats as smooth as it can get in games because thats what i do and that one LCD says that is has 16ms my friend has a 4ms one is there a huge difference? explain.

easy. lower response rate = faster monitor and less ghosting.

if you game, get 8ms or under.

I run 2 20's and 2 17's the 17's are very cheap ones I got about 3 years ago, and they don't have any issues playing games, pretty much any LCD available now will be fine.

yeah but the problem is most of the numbers you get are usually really exagerated. Every company uses different testing methods, so there isn't any standard across the industry.

^ ditto on the dell, great monitor and that is an awesome price

This one is supposed to be one of the best out there right now. I have friends who game with it and love it. (Toms Hardware has good reviews as a rule)

The VX922 is one I can personally vouch for... Hell of a deal for the performance it packs.

The Dell Monitor I listed has a response rate of 5ms. You won't see any ghosting. Just be sure your video card can support the resolution.

Check these out. 22" Widescreens. Costco has $50 off of a Viewsonic 22" and a Sceptre. The Sceptre has the best specs and I think will be $299 after coupon.
