Anyone running IE7

Decided to load it on my work laptop (they don't let us run any non-IE browsers).

Anyone else using it? What do you think?

I like the "tab browsing", but not the Phishing filter. Other than that it's ok.....just getting used to the new format.

So is it still Beta or what? I've been getting a bunch of customer's that have it installed and have no idea how they got it. I'm assuming it came through some kind of Windows Update and they simply were not paying attention.

On the flip side of that I'm using the new Firefox 2.0 (RC3?) and it's got some interesting features built in like the spell checker. If I type something incorrect on this reply it shows up as a red underline. Pretty cool.

No longer beta. Official release came out today. They aren't pushing it through Windows Update yet, but they will in a couple of months (per today's press release).

Now that is pretty cool. I have been using IE 7 for a few months now. Microsoft has the download link plastered all over their site, thats how they are getting it.

I've been using it all day and I like it alot. I love having tabbed browsing in IE, and I really like the new "look".

Not too surprising. The beta testing was absolutely innundated with bugs and vulnerabilities. In the order of 20,000 plus, and some 200+ new vulnerabilities/bugs found PER DAY.

They just up and decided to mark the vast majority of the issues as closed. Not fixed. The only fixed around 3,000 of the inital reports. And this was 3 or 4 months ago. So, 17,000 holes, plus 200+ new holes found daily, over the next 3 or 4 months.

So much for Microsoft's "focus" on security. Forgive me if I avoid IE7.
