Old laptop........how should I update

Okay, I just got an old laptop that my dad didn't need anymore and I am using it for work. It is an IBM Thinkpad with Windows98 on it. Now, the only thing I will use this for is internet access and watchign movies and shit on the net.

I already have internet access via Internet Explorer. What updates should I download? Quicktime? Virus software?

Man, I barely remember Win98.

This may be some bad advice, but go to My Computer, right click it, go to Properties. It should tell you at the bottom of the General tab what your processer specs are and amount of RAM.

That's how it is with WinXP.

You may have to check in Device Manager...

Yep, just use it for the internet, as that's about all it will do. Chances are they don't even MAKE memory for it.

Yup, but don't be suprised if you have issues with that every so often. 32 is quite low. Windows XP won't run right on anything less then 128, but 512 is really preferred. I would not load any AV, spyware or anything on that bish.

Hell, I'd find the lightest weight browser you can too.
