I use the spray designed for electronics...i forget the name of it. It comes in a blue can. You can also get the wipes. It works well for me and has never damaged anything. I get it at Walmart.

They make a cleaner specifically for LCD screens. I use rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth.

I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol on an LCD. I currently use Fellowes brand "Screen Cleaner" and a microfiber towel.

Ewwwwww....

We have these packets at work specifically for cleaning monitors. I usually "borrow" one whenever I bring my laptop to work

I have never had a problem using rubbing alcohol, it works well for me, but I don't soak the monitor or anything.

Memorex makes a kit for less than $10 with lint-free clothes and cleaner. Don't waste your time ordering some shit like that online. Honestly, Windex out DIRECTLY on a lint-free or microfiber cloth is just fine, just don't spray the screen. Make sure it's the Ammonia-free stuff, cause that's worse than alcohol is. Armor all works wonders but will fuck it up QUICK. Tried that when I worked at Fry's and watched the screen deteriorate over the course of 2 days. We did it on the one in the ad all the time for $179. That thing's a piece of shit.

Lint-free doesn't always mean appropriate for those types of screens. If it's paper is should most likely be white, and you wanna ball it up, roll it around, unfold it, and shake it off to remove any loose fibers that could cause scratches to the surface of the monitor which will dull the screen and effect the colors drastically. Brown paper is usually very coarse and not appropriate.
