360 just turns on

this is twice my 360 has just turn on by its self. IS this a common problem or is my xbox cursed? First time I though just maybe i hit the controller. This time I was watching a movie and heard it kick on. I look at the controllers and they was near me at all.

so does this shit happen to anyone else?

could it be you have another remote that intereferes with the IR for on command? I know my 360 remote will turn my tv on and off with the "dvd info" button, and the tv's on/off button will function as the dvd info button.. maybe you have something similar going on.

Pretty sure those controllers are RF and not IR. I think you are on the right track though. Do you live in an apartment where a neighbor could possibly also have a 360?

if you hold down the GREEN X button on the controls for a few seconds the system will turn on or off, maybe you sat something on top of the button?

I always wondered what that extra light switch next to my front door did.

Now that I know that it turns your xbox on and off, I'll just leave it on. Sorry dude.
