iPod Help

Wife has an iPod Nano and has downloaded some songs from Itues. They are in an M4P format. Is there any way to reformat to MP3 so that I can listen to them on my cheapo MP3 player?

I think that's the only way they come from Itunes, but I could be wrong.

That's why I download illegally.

I'm not sure if there is, but just burn the songs you want onto a CD and then use a program called CDex to rip them off the CD and into MP3 format.

CDex is the shit. I use that and CDDB and have ripped all of my friends CD's. I have about 100gig of mpfrees now because of it.

They are all just a backup in case their CD breaks. I never listen to them.

Good question. This is one of the many reasons that I do not have an ipod.

I am willing to bet that if you google convert itunes to mp3
you will find your answer.
Now all you have to do is copy and paste.

The reason being that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about?

Of course itunes will let you burn a cd. It will also allow you to convert other fomats to mp3...

He asked how to get the files that are in ITUNES to mp3 format. Not how to use itunes to rip the cd into mp3 format.

Burn it to a CD and then rip it to mp3 with Nero. You can "backup" downloaded Itunes songs 5 times.

That's what I ended up doing. What a pain in the ass.

Ever notice, no matter how trivial the thread is that there are always some dicks (*cough* BLAKE) that feel the need to fuck up a perfectly decent thread? One of the main reasons I don't post here that much any more. Geeezzz I wish all the brats on this site would grow up. Wishful thinking I know....

It does convert them for you, convert them using itunes, open your music folder, go to the artist, the songs should be in .mp3 format after that.

To convert them, open itunes, go to edit>preferences>advanced>import tab>import using, change the drop down to mp3. Go to your itunes library, click on a song, hit ctrl+a to select all, then right click, and go to convert selection to mp3.

Dammit, I read the thread up until this point, hit reply, started typing, then had to go do some work, come back and type out how to convert them, and then see you already got it, dammit!

Its not to hard, in fact they have sound cards specfically made for this. My dad does it for all his old LP's. You can also do it with a regular sound card that has line in. They have applications for this as well, just do a search for LP Ripper.

Right click and convert. Be sure your bitrate is set up the way you want it first.

Was more about showing him where the options for burning where located. Since it defaults to audio cd, he may have prefered an mp3 or data cd to be made instead of audio.
