problem with computer

i turn my computer on and an image on the monitor will only show up for a few seconds and then the screen goes black. if i unplug the monitor from the computer and plug it back in the picture will show up for a few seconds then go away again. anybody know what the problem could be?

check the pins on the monitor cable and see if any are bent/missing.

Got a spare monitor to plug in...assuming the pins look okay. If so, that'll pinpoint the problem a little bit. I'm guessing monitor issue.

My '03 Sold.

Either bad monitor or bad video card on PC. Replace monitor and find out.
