Question Formatting New Harddrive

I need some help guys

a friend has build a very nice custom gaming computer and bought the HDD off a fellow dfwstanger, only to find out that the hdd is the wrong type. anyways i told him he could use my 2nd hdd for his(40gb) until he gets another(currently unemployed )

I had previously used the hdd for data storage and i would like to know how i would re-partition it or do what is necessary for it to make it a bootable drive. thanks for the help-taylor.

put in winxp cd, boot up computer then let the install start up.

when it gives you the option of installing to the hard drive, it will break down all the partitions for you. you should delete all the current partions. then tell windows to install in the unpartioned space. when you continue it will ask about what kind of format (go with NTFS and do a full format).

just pull up the install menu. it tells you all of the options.

like "L" is to delete a partion, "enter" picks a partition to install in and "C" creates a new partition.
